Colibrium Additive Nickel 625 is the maker's Inconel 625 grade for laser powder bed fusion, here as-built, without post-print heat treatment. Rapid melt-pool solidification gives a fine cellular-dendritic structure, columnar grains along the build direction and niobium and molybdenum segregation at cell boundaries, making properties orientation-dependent. Parts carry high residual stress, are anchored to the plate by supports and have rough down-facing surfaces, so stress relief, plate removal and often hot isostatic pressing or solution annealing and machining follow. Printed parts serve as heat- and corrosion-resistant components with internal channels, such as heat exchangers and combustion hardware.
