EOS Titanium Ti64 Grade 5 is a Ti-6Al-4V grade for laser powder bed fusion, in which a laser melts the alloy powder layer by layer under inert gas. Rapid solidification leaves fine acicular martensite within columnar prior-beta grains along the build direction, with high residual stress and some anisotropy. Parts are normally stress-relieved before removal from the plate and supports. They are often hot isostatically pressed to close porosity and improve ductility and fatigue strength, and fatigue-critical surfaces are machined. Printed parts serve as lightweight aerospace brackets, medical implant components and complex industrial parts. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
