Ti-6Al-4V (L-PBF, EOS Titanium Ti64 Grade 5, heat-treated)

EOS Titanium Ti64 Grade 5, heat-treated, is Ti-6Al-4V powder from EOS that has been built by laser powder bed fusion and then heat-treated. As built, the alloy forms columnar prior-beta grains along the build direction, filled with fine acicular martensite, and it carries high residual stress and limited ductility. Heat treatment relieves those stresses and turns the martensite into a fine lamellar alpha-beta structure, which raises ductility at some cost in strength. The columnar grains and any internal porosity remain. Parts still need support removal and surface finishing, and are used for lightweight aerospace brackets, motorsport parts and lattice structures in medical devices.
