Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Grade 23) (EB-PBF, Colibrium Additive Ti6Al4V Grade 23 (Spectra L), as-built)

Colibrium Additive Ti6Al4V Grade 23 (Spectra L) is the maker's extra-low-interstitial Ti-6Al-4V grade for electron beam powder bed fusion, in the as-built condition. The heated powder bed and vacuum let the alloy cool slowly. This gives a fine lamellar alpha-beta structure in columnar prior-beta grains along the build direction instead of martensite, with low residual stress. As-built surfaces are rough, partially sintered powder is removed by blasting, and parts are often hot isostatically pressed to close residual porosity. Typical uses are orthopedic implants with porous lattice surfaces and aerospace components.
