Stratasys FDM Nylon 12 is a PA12 filament grade printed by fused deposition modeling, here in the as-built condition. Parts are built from extruded roads fused layer by layer, so strength and toughness are lower across layers than within them, and small voids can remain between beads. As-built surfaces show layer lines and stair-stepping on curved and inclined faces, and overhangs need support material that is removed after printing. Printed parts are used for tough functional prototypes, snap fits and other repeatedly flexed features, jigs, fixtures and low-volume end-use components. Every value on this page is read from Stratasys' own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
