AZ92A is a magnesium alloy containing aluminum and zinc that is precipitation hardened in the T6 condition to provide high strength and improved creep resistance for elevated-temperature applications in aerospace castings. T6 temper offers solution heat treatment followed by artificial aging, delivering tensile yield strengths in the 160–180 MPa range with moderate elongation suitable for investment, permanent mold, and sand casting processes per AMS specifications.
