YBe2Ru

YBe2Ru is an intermetallic ceramic compound combining yttrium, beryllium, and ruthenium—a research-phase material investigated for high-performance structural and functional applications. This material belongs to the family of rare-earth intermetallic ceramics, which are of primary interest in materials science for their potential to combine refractory stability with unusual electronic or mechanical properties. Given its composition, YBe2Ru is primarily a laboratory compound rather than a widely commercialized engineering material; it serves as a testbed for understanding phase stability, mechanical behavior, and potential applications in extreme environments where conventional ceramics or metals face limitations.
