· Yb4 Mg2 Si4

Yb₄Mg₂Si₄ is a rare-earth intermetallic compound combining ytterbium, magnesium, and silicon in a defined stoichiometric ratio, belonging to the family of Zintl phases and rare-earth silicides. This material is primarily of research and development interest for thermoelectric applications, where the combination of rare-earth elements and the crystal structure can yield favorable electronic and phonon transport properties for solid-state heat conversion. While not yet widely deployed in high-volume production, compounds in this material family are investigated as potential alternatives to lead telluride and bismuth telluride thermoelectrics, particularly for mid-temperature waste heat recovery where reduced toxicity and improved sustainability are sought.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
