· Yb4 F12

Yb₄F₁₂ is a rare-earth fluoride ceramic compound belonging to the family of lanthanide fluorides, which are primarily explored in photonics and optical applications due to their transparency in the infrared spectrum. This material is of research interest for specialized optical systems, laser host materials, and potentially for high-temperature applications where fluoride ceramics offer chemical stability and low phonon energy—characteristics that make them distinct from oxide ceramics. The compound represents an experimental/developmental material class rather than a widely commercialized engineering ceramic.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
