TmI

Thulium iodide (TmI) is an ionic ceramic compound combining the rare-earth element thulium with iodine, forming a halide ceramic with potential applications in specialized optical and radiation-related fields. This material is primarily of research and development interest rather than established industrial production, as it belongs to the rare-earth halide family known for unique luminescent and scintillation properties. TmI's notable characteristics—including its density and rare-earth composition—position it for investigation in niche applications where thulium's specific spectral emissions or radiation-response behavior provides advantages over conventional ceramics or other lanthanide halides.
