Renishaw Ti6Al4V ELI-0406 is Renishaw's Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Grade 23) powder grade for laser powder bed fusion, and it keeps the low interstitial content of the ELI alloy. As built, it has fine acicular alpha-prime martensite in columnar prior-beta grains along the build direction, which gives high strength, low ductility and some anisotropy. High residual stress means parts are stress relieved before removal from the plate, and hot isostatic pressing is often added to close porosity and improve ductility and fatigue life. Overhangs need supports, and rough surfaces are usually finished where fatigue matters. Typical parts are orthopaedic and dental implants with porous lattices and lightweight aerospace components. Every value on this page is read from Renishaw's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
