Nikon SLM Solutions Ti6Al4V ELI (Grade 23), heat-treated, is that maker's extra-low-interstitial Ti-6Al-4V grade, built by laser powder bed fusion and heat-treated after printing. As printed, rapid solidification produces fine acicular alpha-prime martensite in columnar prior-beta grains along the build direction, with high residual stress and limited ductility. Heat treatment relieves the stress and transforms the martensite into a fine alpha-beta structure with better ductility, but supports and rough surfaces still need removal or machining. Printed parts are used for orthopedic implant components, lattice structures and lightweight aerospace brackets. Every value on this page is read from Nikon SLM Solutions' own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
