SrBiIO2 is an experimental mixed-metal oxide ceramic compound containing strontium, bismuth, iodine, and oxygen. This material belongs to the family of halide-containing perovskite and perovskite-derivative ceramics, which are of significant research interest for photonic and electronic applications. While not yet widely deployed in production, materials in this class are being investigated for potential use in photocatalysis, optoelectronic devices, and radiation-detection applications due to the unique electronic properties that arise from bismuth and halide incorporation.
