Sn₂SeS₂ is a mixed-anion ceramic compound combining tin with selenium and sulfur, belonging to the family of chalcogenide ceramics. This material is primarily of research interest for optoelectronic and photovoltaic applications, where its layered structure and bandgap properties make it a candidate for light absorption and energy conversion in next-generation solar devices and infrared detectors. Its chemical composition positions it as an experimental material rather than an established industrial ceramic, offering potential advantages in semiconducting behavior and thermal stability compared to simpler binary chalcogenides.
