ScBN2 is a scandium boron nitride ceramic compound combining scandium with boron nitride's hexagonal crystal structure, representing an emerging material in the advanced ceramics family. While primarily in research and development phases, this material is being explored for applications requiring a balance of mechanical stiffness, thermal stability, and chemical inertness characteristic of boron nitride-based systems. Its scandium doping distinguishes it from conventional hexagonal BN, potentially offering enhanced hardness and thermal conductivity for next-generation aerospace, thermal management, and high-temperature applications.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
