ScBC is a scandium boron carbide ceramic compound combining scandium with boron and carbon phases to achieve high hardness and stiffness. This material family is primarily of research and developmental interest, explored for applications demanding extreme wear resistance and thermal stability where conventional ceramics may fall short. ScBC represents an emerging class of multi-element ceramics that can be engineered for specific mechanical and thermal properties, though industrial adoption remains limited compared to established boron carbide or silicon carbide alternatives.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
