RbYF3 is a rubidium yttrium fluoride ceramic compound belonging to the rare-earth fluoride family. This material is primarily investigated in research contexts for optical and photonic applications, particularly as a host matrix for rare-earth dopants in laser crystals and solid-state laser systems. Its appeal lies in its transparency across ultraviolet and visible wavelengths combined with a high refractive index, making it suitable for non-linear optical devices and upconversion applications where fluoride-based ceramics outperform traditional oxides.
