RbInOFN is an oxyfluoride ceramic compound containing rubidium, indium, oxygen, and fluorine. This is a research-phase material belonging to the family of mixed-anion ceramics, which are of interest for their potential to combine the properties of both oxide and fluoride phases. The material family is primarily investigated for photonic and optoelectronic applications where the mixed anion composition can tune optical bandgap and crystal structure; however, RbInOFN remains largely experimental and would be selected only where novel optical or ionic-conducting properties are specifically required.
