· JVASP-24267· RbGeBiS4

RbGeBiS4 is a quaternary chalcogenide ceramic compound combining rubidium, germanium, bismuth, and sulfur elements. This is a research-phase material studied for its potential in infrared optics and photonic applications, where chalcogenide glasses and crystals are valued for transparency in the mid- to far-infrared spectrum. The inclusion of bismuth—a heavy p-block element—suggests interest in nonlinear optical properties or radiation detection, making it relevant to specialized photonics rather than structural applications.
