Rb2ScInI6 is a halide perovskite ceramic compound containing rubidium, scandium, indium, and iodine, representing an emerging class of materials under active research rather than established commercial production. This material family is being investigated primarily for optoelectronic and photovoltaic applications, where halide perovskites offer tunable bandgaps, strong light absorption, and potential cost advantages over conventional semiconductors. The scandium and indium coordination in this specific composition suggests investigation into stability improvements and performance optimization compared to lead-based perovskites, though applications remain largely at the laboratory scale.
