Bambu Lab Bambu PVA is a polyvinyl alcohol filament grade for fused deposition modeling, used as a water-soluble support material printed alongside a build material on multi-material machines. PVA is strongly hygroscopic, so the filament must be kept dry to avoid stringing, bubbling and poor extrusion. After printing, the supports are dissolved by soaking the part in water, which leaves the contact surfaces free of the scars that breakaway supports leave. It supports overhangs, internal channels and enclosed cavities that breakaway supports cannot reach, and is typically paired with PLA and similar low-temperature filaments. Every value on this page is read from Bambu Lab's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
