Praseodymium (Pr) is a silvery-white rare earth metal belonging to the lanthanide series, characterized by moderate stiffness and low density. It is primarily used in alloy systems—most notably in nickel-based superalloys and magnesium alloys—where it enhances high-temperature strength and creep resistance; praseodymium is also valued in permanent magnets (Pr-Co and Pr-Nd systems) and optical applications. Engineers select praseodymium-containing alloys for extreme-temperature aerospace and power-generation environments where conventional metals cannot perform, though the material's cost and limited standalone structural role mean it functions as a critical alloying addition rather than a primary engineering metal.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
