Formlabs Polypropylene Powder printed by selective laser sintering is a polypropylene grade fused layer by layer in a heated powder bed, described here in the conditioned state, held at a standard laboratory atmosphere after printing. Unfused powder supports the parts during the build, so no support structures are needed. Parts come out with a grainy matte surface and some porosity, and they are weaker and less ductile across layers than within them. They are usually depowdered and bead blasted after the build. Printed parts are used for chemically resistant fluid-handling parts, ducts, containers, housings and snap-fit components. Every value on this page is read from Formlabs' own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
