BASF Forward AM Ultrasint PP nat 01 is a natural-coloured polypropylene powder for selective laser sintering, in which a laser fuses the powder layer by layer in a heated bed. The unfused powder supports the part, so no support structures are needed and parts can be nested throughout the build. Parts have a matte, grainy surface and some residual porosity, are usually depowdered and bead-blasted, and tend to be weaker along the build direction than in the layer plane. They are used for fluid-handling components, ducts, housings, snap-fit features and functional prototypes of moulded polypropylene parts, where chemical resistance, low moisture uptake and ductility matter. Every value on this page is read from BASF Forward AM's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
