Raise3D Premium PC is a polycarbonate filament grade printed by fused deposition modeling, in which the amorphous polymer is extruded and built up layer by layer. Parts are anisotropic, weaker across layer interfaces than along the extruded roads, and the layer lines leave them translucent rather than optically clear. The high processing temperature and shrinkage of polycarbonate make it prone to warping and interlayer cracking, so it is printed from dried filament onto a heated bed, preferably in an enclosed chamber. Typical uses are functional prototypes, jigs, fixtures, housings and brackets that need more toughness and heat resistance than common filaments give. Every value on this page is read from Raise3D's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
