It is widely used in chemical processing equipment, wire and cable insulation, tubing, and architectural applications where moderate chemical resistance and low permeability are required; engineers select ETFE over lower-cost polyethylene when superior chemical resistance is needed, or over more expensive perfluorinated fluoropolymers when high temperature performance is less critical or cost must be controlled.
