Raise3D Premium PLA is Raise3D's polylactic acid filament grade, printed by fused deposition modeling, in which the filament is melted and extruded through a nozzle in successive layers. Like other FDM PLA, parts are built from fused beads with small voids between them. Strength is therefore lower across layers than within them, and the surface shows layer lines that need sanding or coating where a smooth finish matters. PLA shrinks and warps little during printing, so it prints reliably on open-frame machines, though overhangs need removable supports. Printed parts are used for concept and form-fit prototypes, visual models, light-duty jigs and fixtures, and housings that stay at moderate temperatures. Every value on this page is read from Raise3D's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
