Bambu PLA Basic is Bambu Lab's general-purpose polylactic acid filament for fused deposition modeling. Parts are built from extruded beads laid down layer by layer, so they are anisotropic and weakest between layers, with visible layer lines and internal voids that depend on infill and toolpath. PLA prints with little warping and needs no heated chamber, but overhangs need supports that mark the surface, and parts soften at fairly low temperatures. Printed parts are used for prototypes, fit checks, fixtures, enclosures, display models and other lightly loaded parts kept away from heat. Every value on this page is read from Bambu Lab's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
