PA12 (SLS, EOS PA 2201, dry as moulded)

EOS PA 2201 is an unfilled white PA12 powder grade for selective laser sintering, here in the dry-as-moulded state, before the parts take up moisture from the air. The powder is fused layer by layer in a heated bed whose unfused powder supports the part, so no supports are needed and parts can be nested through the build volume. As built, parts are slightly porous, have a matte, grainy surface, and are weaker and less ductile across layers than within them. They are usually depowdered and bead blasted, and may be dyed or infiltrated. Typical uses are functional prototypes and low-volume end-use parts such as housings, ducts, snap fits and fixtures.
