EOS PA 2200 is a white PA12 powder grade for selective laser sintering and one of the most widely used materials in polymer powder bed fusion. The laser fuses each layer in a heated powder bed, and the unfused powder supports the part, so no support structures are needed and parts can be nested throughout the build volume. Parts come out with a matte, slightly grainy surface, some residual porosity and lower elongation in the build direction than in the layer plane. They are usually bead blasted after depowdering and often dyed or smoothed. Typical uses are functional prototypes and small-series end-use parts such as housings, brackets, ducts, clips and fixtures. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
