EOS PA 2200 is a white PA12 powder grade for selective laser sintering, here in the dry as moulded state, before printed parts take up moisture from the air. The laser fuses each powder layer in a heated bed, and the unfused powder supports the part, so no supports are needed and parts can be nested throughout the build. Printed parts are slightly porous with a matte, granular surface that is usually bead blasted after depowdering, and strength and elongation are lower along the build direction than in the layer plane. It is used for functional prototypes and small series of end-use parts such as housings, ducts, clips, snap fits and fixtures. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
