PA12 printed by Multi Jet Fusion is a nylon thermoplastic built in a polymer powder bed, where a fusing agent is jetted onto each layer and infrared energy melts the powder it covers while a detailing agent sharpens the edges. Parts are nearly fully dense with only modest anisotropy between build directions, a slightly grainy matte surface, and a grey tone from the agent. No support structures are needed because unfused powder holds the part, but parts require depowdering and usually bead blasting, with dyeing or vapor smoothing added for appearance or sealing. Typical uses are functional prototypes, enclosures, housings, ducts, clips, hinges, jigs and low to medium volume production parts.
Compliance & Regulations
Each row is one condition this material was measured in. Its values and curves are in the tables and charts below, labelled with the condition; the ranges here span that row's own cited values and are never averaged across rows.
