EOS PA 1101 is an unfilled PA11 powder grade printed by selective laser sintering, in which a laser fuses successive layers of polyamide powder in a heated bed. The surrounding unfused powder supports the part, so no support structures are needed. Parts have slight porosity and a matte, grainy surface that is usually bead blasted and may be dyed or smoothed. Elongation and strength are lower across the layers than within them. Laser-sintered PA11 is more ductile and impact resistant than laser-sintered PA12, which suits it to functional prototypes and end-use parts such as snap fits, living hinges, clips and ducts. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
