EOS PA 1101 is a PA11 powder grade for selective laser sintering, here in the dry as moulded state, meaning tested without conditioning to ambient moisture. Each layer is fused in a heated powder bed, so parts need no supports, but they have slight residual porosity, a matte grainy surface and lower strength and elongation across layers than within them. Compared with laser-sintered PA12 it is notably more ductile and impact-resistant. Parts are usually depowdered and bead-blasted, then dyed or smoothed where appearance matters. It is used for functional parts that must flex or take impact, such as snap fits, living hinges, clips and ducts. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
