NdB4Ir4 is an intermetallic ceramic compound combining neodymium, boron, and iridium—a material class typically explored for high-temperature structural and functional applications where extreme hardness and thermal stability are critical. This is a research-phase material rather than a commodity ceramic; compounds in this family are investigated for potential use in aerospace and extreme-environment applications, though industrial adoption remains limited. The combination of a rare-earth element (neodymium) with transition metals (iridium) and boron suggests potential for wear resistance, thermal shock tolerance, or specialized electronic properties, making it of interest to researchers developing next-generation materials for demanding engineering environments.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
