NbWO2F is an experimental mixed-metal oxide fluoride ceramic combining niobium, tungsten, oxygen, and fluorine constituents. This compound belongs to the family of advanced functional ceramics being investigated for electronic, optical, or structural applications where the combination of refractory metals and fluorine incorporation may provide unique phase stability, thermal properties, or ionic conductivity. As a research-phase material, NbWO2F has not yet established widespread industrial adoption, but similar niobium–tungsten oxide systems are of interest in high-temperature electronics, catalysis, and solid-state electrochemistry where the dual metal chemistry can tune properties beyond what single-metal oxides offer.
