MgTa is an intermetallic ceramic compound combining magnesium and tantalum, representing a rare-earth transition metal ceramic with potential for high-temperature and structural applications. While not widely commercialized, this material belongs to the family of refractory intermetallics and advanced ceramics being investigated for extreme environments where conventional ceramics or metals reach their limits. The combination of magnesium's low density with tantalum's high melting point and chemical stability suggests potential for aerospace, defense, and high-temperature industrial applications where weight savings and thermal resistance are critical.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
