ceramic

· LiBC

LiBC is a lithium boron carbide ceramic compound that combines the lightweight and high-hardness characteristics typical of boron carbide with lithium incorporation, resulting in a material with potential for applications requiring both structural stiffness and low density. While primarily of research and development interest rather than mainstream production use, this material family is investigated for advanced applications where the combination of elastic properties and low weight offers advantages over conventional technical ceramics. Its composition places it in the family of hard ceramics suitable for wear resistance, thermal protection, or structural applications where weight savings are critical.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
