EOS NickelAlloy IN718 is a laser powder bed fusion powder grade of the precipitation-hardening nickel superalloy Inconel 718, here in the heat-treated condition. As built, it has a fine cellular-dendritic structure with niobium segregation, columnar grains along the build direction and high residual stress, so parts are stress-relieved before removal from the plate and supports. Solution treatment and double aging precipitate the gamma double-prime strengthening phase, sometimes after hot isostatic pressing to close porosity, though the columnar texture leaves some anisotropy. Parts serve as turbine and rocket engine components, combustor hardware and heat exchangers, with functional surfaces usually machined. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
