Colibrium Additive Nickel 718 is that maker's grade of Inconel 718 made by laser powder bed fusion, here in the as-built condition without post-build heat treatment. Rapid solidification gives a fine cellular-dendritic structure with columnar grains along the build direction, interdendritic niobium segregation with Laves phase, and little of the strengthening gamma double prime precipitation. Parts carry high residual stress, differ in properties between build directions and have a rough surface, so they are normally stress relieved, hot isostatically pressed, and solution treated and aged. Printed parts are used for gas turbine and rocket engine hardware such as combustor and fuel system components, brackets and heat exchangers. Every value on this page is read from Colibrium Additive's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
