Inconel 718 (L-PBF, 3D Systems LaserForm Ni718 (A), heat-treated)

3D Systems LaserForm Ni718 (A) is a heat-treated grade of the nickel superalloy Inconel 718 made by laser powder bed fusion. As built, the alloy has a fine cellular-dendritic structure with niobium segregation, columnar grains along the build direction and high residual stress, so parts need supports and stress relief. Heat treatment relieves that stress and ages the alloy to precipitate its strengthening phases, though grain texture and some anisotropy between build directions can remain. Parts serve in gas turbine and rocket engine hardware, brackets and heat exchangers that need complex geometry and strength at elevated temperature.
