Velo3D Inconel 625 in the HIP condition is that maker's grade of the nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy, printed by laser powder bed fusion and then hot isostatically pressed. As printed, it has a fine cellular structure with columnar grains along the build direction, niobium and molybdenum segregated to cell boundaries, and residual stress that needs relief before removal from the plate. HIP closes internal porosity and recrystallizes and homogenizes the structure, which reduces anisotropy, but it leaves the rough as-built surface. Parts serve as corrosion- and heat-resistant aerospace ducting, heat exchangers, combustion hardware and chemical-process fittings. Every value on this page is read from Velo3D's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
