Nikon SLM Solutions IN625 is that maker's grade of Inconel 625 for laser powder bed fusion, here in the as-built condition without heat treatment. Rapid solidification gives a fine cellular-dendritic structure, with niobium and molybdenum segregated to cell boundaries and columnar grains along the build direction. As a result, strength is high, ductility is below annealed wrought material and properties depend on build direction. Parts carry high residual stress and a rough surface, need supports on overhangs and are usually stress relieved, often also solution annealed or hot isostatically pressed. Typical uses are heat exchangers, combustor and exhaust parts, manifolds and chemical-process hardware with internal passages. Every value on this page is read from Nikon SLM Solutions' own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
