EOS NickelAlloy IN625 is one maker's grade of the nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy Inconel 625 printed by laser powder bed fusion, here in the as-built condition. As built, it has a fine cellular-dendritic structure with columnar grains along the build direction and niobium and molybdenum segregated at cell boundaries. This makes it stronger but less ductile than annealed wrought alloy and gives it properties that differ between build directions. Parts carry high residual stress and a rough surface, need supports on overhangs, and are usually stress relieved before removal from the plate. They are used for corrosion- and heat-resistant manifolds, heat exchangers, ducting and combustion hardware. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
