3D Systems LaserForm Ni625 (A) is Inconel 625 printed by laser powder bed fusion from that maker's powder grade and then stress-relieved. As printed, it has a fine cellular-dendritic structure with columnar grains along the build direction, giving some anisotropy, and high residual stress. Stress relief, usually done on the build plate, lowers that stress and distortion on removal while largely keeping the as-built grain structure. Overhangs need supports, and the rough surface is often machined where sealing or fatigue matters. Typical parts are complex corrosion- and heat-resistant components such as heat exchangers, manifolds, ducting and exhaust parts. Every value on this page is read from 3D Systems' own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
