Velo3D Hastelloy X is the nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy Hastelloy X, printed by laser powder bed fusion on the maker's own systems with its own process parameters. As printed, it has a fine cellular-dendritic structure with columnar grains along the build direction, giving anisotropy between build directions, plus high residual stress and rough downskin surfaces. Parts are usually stress relieved on the plate, then solution annealed or hot isostatically pressed to recrystallize the structure and close porosity, with critical surfaces machined. Typical printed parts are gas turbine combustor liners, fuel nozzles, hot-section ducting and heat exchangers with internal passages. Every value on this page is read from Velo3D's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
