Velo3D Hastelloy X is the maker's grade of Hastelloy X, a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy, printed by laser powder bed fusion and hot isostatically pressed. As printed, it has a fine cellular structure with grains elongated along the build direction, high residual stress and a tendency to solidification microcracking, giving direction-dependent properties. Hot isostatic pressing closes internal pores and cracks and recrystallizes the structure, reducing anisotropy and improving ductility and fatigue behaviour. Supports and rough surfaces still need removal and finishing. Parts are used for combustor liners, fuel nozzles, heat exchangers and other hot-section gas turbine components. Every value on this page is read from Velo3D's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
