Hastelloy X (L-PBF, Colibrium Additive Nickel X, as-built)

Colibrium Additive Nickel X is the maker's Hastelloy X grade, a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy, printed by laser powder bed fusion and left as built, before any heat treatment. As built, it has a fine cellular solidification structure in columnar grains elongated along the build direction. This gives anisotropic properties, high residual stress and rough supported and down-facing surfaces. Parts are normally stress relieved before removal from the plate, then usually hot isostatically pressed or solution annealed. It is used for gas turbine hot-section parts such as combustor components, fuel nozzles and compact heat exchangers.
