EOS Titanium TiCP Grade 2 in the heat-treated condition is commercially pure titanium Grade 2 printed by laser powder bed fusion from the maker's powder and heat treated after the build. As built, rapid melt-pool solidification gives a fine acicular alpha structure with high residual stress, and higher strength but lower ductility than annealed wrought material. Heat treatment relieves these stresses and coarsens the structure, recovering ductility and limiting distortion on removal from the plate. Parts still need support removal and machining or blasting of the rough surface. Uses include corrosion-resistant fluid-handling parts, heat exchangers and lattice structures where unalloyed titanium suits better than stronger alloys. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
