Colibrium Additive CoCrMo in the HIP condition is that maker's cobalt-chromium-molybdenum grade, printed by laser powder bed fusion and then hot isostatically pressed. As built, it has a fine cellular structure with grains elongated along the build direction, residual stress and some internal porosity. HIP closes internal pores not connected to the surface, relieves residual stress and recrystallizes the structure, reducing anisotropy and improving ductility and fatigue resistance at some cost in strength. Supports still have to be removed, and the rough printed surface is unchanged and needs machining or polishing. Parts are used for wear- and corrosion-resistant orthopaedic and dental components and high-temperature aerospace parts. Every value on this page is read from Colibrium Additive's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
